The Colorado Ballet MasterWorks takes place at the Ellie Caulkins Opera House in downtown Denver Colorado in February.
Colorado Ballet will present the Ballet MasterWorks with live music performed by the Colorado Ballet Orchestra. Highlighting this program will be a celebration of the 100th anniversary of Igor Stravinsky’s composition of The Rite of Spring, with choreography by Glen Tetley.
Also in this program will be George Balanchine’s ballet Theme and Variations, performed to the final movement of Tchaikovsky’s Suite No. 3 for Orchestra in G major, Op. 55. To round out the program, Val Caniparoli, choreographer for San Francisco Ballet to create a new work on the company, with music by Poul Ruders.
